Sheltered Program

The Sheltered Program is an alternate education program focused on differentiated learning and individualized assessment.  Students in the program have learning difficulties, attendance issues, past failures and behaviour struggles.  Hands on learning, effort based marking, extra breaks, and fun activities are all designed to make these students enjoy learning again.  There is a heavy emphasis on changing negative behaviours, owning behaviours, anger management and apologizing.   The fifteen students work on all their academics in the sheltered education room and leave only for their electives.  The main goal of the program is to reintegrate the students back into mainstream classes.  So far, this program has been a huge success!
